If her book is 15 meg it is likely written with a Word Processor using all kinds of formatting etc.
I would suggest converting it to a text file to see what size reduction could be then either zipping it or using Acrobat (whatever is handiest and produces the smaller file (usually ZIP), and whatever that publisher prefers).
If the book is illustrated it would be difficult to send as text only and possibly running it through the Acrobat Distiller could reduce it to a sendable size--again I would suggest finding out EXACTLY what the publisher wants and expects.
It is doubtful your own ISP will allow your sending of an email with a 15 meg attachment.
Curiosity forces me to ask - who is this publisher who allows submissions only through e-mail?
I'm not sure where to go with this question. Maybe you can direct me to the right place. I have a friend who has written a book of short stories. She's prepared this book along with pictures onto a CD which she claims is about 15megabytes. She's asked me if I can email to a publishing firm she found on the internet and who will only accept the package as email. Can you tell me the best wat to email such a large file? I'm thinking that I should zip it or will
Adobe acrobat 6 professional do the job?
Thanks, I hope!
