Feb 23, 2009 1:27AM PST

I am not sure where to post this question.I am not sure if it is just the clocks that are wrong or what, but I was help when I had a real nasty virus to get rid of and with help I finely got rid of it.
last night I notice the clock was wrong and I reset it. I know there is a inter clock too. can some one help me set them right?
I am not if it is just the clock or more.

I know I can't even update the avg virus scanner cause it says

your computer system time seems to be accurate. this may lead to false virus dataiabase up-to dateness up-to dateness reporting please correct your system time if possbible.

I live in west Sacramento CA. 95605 here is some information on my computer I have copy down I hope it give you what you need in order to

Feb 23, 2009 10:04AM PST

I can set the clock at the bottom right side of the screen. right now it says17:09. I did set that clock one time, but when I restarted the computer it went back to milatary time. I know where to set that clock for (GMT-08:00) pacific time (US and Canada,) but I don't know what to sent the other 2 clock for.

I think in area of the desk top is where the others clocks are. I wrote that I live in West Sacramento area code95605. I am not sure why when I sent that one clock that you click on the bottom right of my desk top and sent the time when I turn the computer off and back on it goes back to milatary time again. when I click now it the same place all three clock pop up. I don't have a clue what to set the clock 1 and clock 2. they say milatary time now, and I am not good at military time.
I don't where the next time zone ends and the next one begin. so I cannot even look up the different time zones to fine out. I just don't what to write in the search box.

can you please tell me what time to set clock 1 and clock 2 at? I hope this makes sense. I did not know till now that the computer has 3 clock. right now the time say's 17:49

Feb 23, 2009 9:23PM PST

You didn't share "the error".

The best thing you can do RIGHT NOW is to put "the error" in quotes on google.com to see if anyone has answered why this happens.

As to the TIMEZONE, I hope that was something you can ask people around you what that is.

in the last post I said that I had to figure out how to change, the time format to h:mmsstt. that was set wrong, but now all clock are now set right and I still get the same message. I WILL DO CAPS SO IT IS EASY TO SEE OTHER THEN THAT ONE MESSAGE FROM AVG THAT I WROTE ABOVE SAYING THE TIME WAS INACCURATE THIS MAY LEAD TO A FALSE VIRUS DATABSE UP-TO-DATENESS REPORTING. WHEN I CLICK THE MESSAGE IT ACTS LIKE IT FINISHES THE UPDATE SOME TIMES IT SAYS IT COMPLETED IT AND SOME TIMES IT'S FAILS. THE OTHERS ALL SAYS THEY FAILED AND TRY AGAIN LATER.

I will still keep looking and well see what I can fine. there is no one I know here in Calif. that could help me with this. I don't no many people and most I know are friends just by way of phone. I almost never see them. most I never see at all. I am asking a few people I know on the net and so far no luck. my sister in Portland Oregon can't help me she says she knows windows xp and not vista. at here work witch is at the collage. the teg people there say they are not even going to try vista they are keeping xp till the next one comes out. if or should I say when I do fine a way to correct the trouble I will let every know. thanks again for the help you have give me so far.

There is no such message I've seen like that on any PC and over the years I've seen a few thousand. It looks to me that the typographic errors are too many so my bet is your primary language is some other language.

Keep trying. Setting the PC's time is basic stuff. Have someone show you at school.

Feb 24, 2009 3:18PM PST

hi bob

When I 1st join here you were one of the 1st ones that help me. when I thought my computer was running in windows 95 because of what I saw under properties. all that it really was is you can use as low as windows 95 in this computer. some one here did a lot of searching and found out this model dv6809wn the n meant it was a Spanish computer and it should be a letter m for American.. my husband bought it at walmart here in west Sacramento. CA.

when I 1st called hp for help I had to get the sale recipe and prove to them that it was bought at walmart and was under warranty. when I called and told them about the model number and the different between the ending in an n and not the letter m. they started helping me because they found the computer with all the right information. maybe what the avg said when I tried to update it. did not sound any thing like you had seen before. that could have to deal with the last letter in the model no. maybe now you can understand and see that I am telling the truth about English being the only language I speak and that I am american not spanish. and the USA is my home. not some where els

I change the time format and that did not help.
Feb 24, 2009 6:04AM PST

I am sending this before I even check my mail. this is the 1st time
I have got on the computer today. I cannot stay on long as my husband
is waiting for an important phone call.

I had to figure out how to change, the time format to h:mmsstt. that was set wrong, but now all clock are now set right and I still get the same message. I don't recall the exact words, but the meaning of what it meant was the time is still set wrong and I need to fix it.
there is nothing more to fix that I can see. before I change the format and I change the time on all of the clock to the right time. when I turn the computer off and on the clocks change back to milatary time. after I change the time format and turn the computer on and off the time stayed on the right time, but it did not fix the problem. it wont let me update any thing, because it says the time is not sent right. now I am end the dark more then I was before.

yesterday my husband bought a new long phone cord and he fixed
it to the computer. he did not hide the cord under the rugs as he should have. he was going to do it after he rested. I was still reading about how to set the clocks and I had got disconnected sugar one of are American bulldogs chewed the phone cord in to, and I could not get my husband to fix it till he got off work today.

with all the reading I did last night and even figuring out the time format needed to be change and I change it to the right one. I still have the same trouble. {does any one know of what could be wrong that need to be fixed?} I cannot even do a windows update till I get it fix. I would greatly appreciate any help from any one. thanks for the help I have had so far.
Sharon sham1313
I always now do a 1st copy of what I send to you on a note pad and after I try to correct the spelling and I have
pare-a- graph in what I copy paste here to send to you and it does not do the pare-a-grapy it just has all the line even and does not have the 1st line started like a pare-a- graph. sorry for the bad spelling of that one word.

I have to Wait till after 7pm my time. they are supose to call be back at 7pm tonight the resion is sprint witch is what my husband and I use. they take away mins from 1000 min that we start each month. if I go over 1000 they charge me 40 cents a min after that. I learn that the hard way. when we 1st got this computer I call hp a lot and had to pay between a $300.00 and $400.00 bill.

any way the teg said that it might be that before I got rid of the virus it messed up my registry. maybe after 7 they will help me try to fix it. if I don't get it fix between 7 and 8pm, I will just have to call them back again before 7am. the only time I can talk on on the cell phone witch I have to do, because the house phone is the computer phone. like I started to say is, on the weekends and after 7pm and before 7am in the morning is the only time I can talk for free. on my cell phone any number at all even if it is a toll free they take away from the 1000 mins and charge me 40cents each min. after that.
thanks for your help again.

Mar 2, 2009 3:06PM PST

I am sorry about how this e-mail works but with the copy pasting I did it wond up putting space's and makeing look at how the middle is space wrong. I have copy and pasted to my bluelight mail to check the spelling I was working on getting the style set up so you could read it better and the page went white and there was no message so I do not have time to try to correct it. I do hope you understand this and I will say I am sorry one more time GB

there is one question at the bottom to.
I will put my questions 1st then you can read what I have been doing and there was part of this email I did not get it saved and I lot it. so I will write some of what would be in the middle or at the bottom it will be here at the top. 1st question they say I should just have only one virus protector (witch I know that). you should only have one spyware if any. so when I write a question and some one send a URL with some thing I am not sure whether I am suppose to keep it after I download to use or do I unstall it? I have to make sure you know what I have use that was not stopping the virus. and all so ask you if when the virus is gone if should I unstall it?

here is most of what has happen

I'm not sure if I should follow up here

what I started here or just start fresh in the

virus Forum.
here goes anyway. I have already

wrote you telling you that they did a step by

step with me to do two restore.
I don't thing I told you that what I did

when I did the back up for my computer

desktop. I did it wrong. so I had to install

AVG virus from the disk and having a dial up

connection it takes a long time to get to the

8.0 version. one other file witch I called

sham1313 had a lot of things I needed to

keep, but it just disappeared. I don't know

where it went. that means there is more for

me to update and to re-do and not sure what els.

after I did the second restore. I still

had trouble. I call HP they talk me into

doing a Recovery Manager. all I had to do

was windows update and starting from the

AVG virus scanner disk to a total Internet

update.

I told them about the 3 to 4 program I

was using to get rid of that nasty virus. that

keeps coming back. the only time I could

use the combofix was when I was at the site

and click the run not save.

he took me step from step threw the

recovery manager. he was letting me go

because he said it wound take a long time, to

do and some one would call me back at my

choose of times and sense I can only use my

cell for free on the weekends and after7pm

till 7am. they could call be back at four pm

witch they did not. before that he told me

to do as much of the installing and

updating that I could. witch I did. I had

put a lot of things on my desktop to sort to

two main folders I keep on my desktop. he

did not tell me that I should not have re-

downloaded all the spyware that I was using

to get rid of the virus. I was mainly having

trouble with downloading my Avg virus

scanner,

also after being connected for a while

either doing some typing or searching the

Quick play would come up with its a black

screen. I thing it is some thing you can use

for some kind of game. when I called then

they were having teg trouble and said I had

to call back. I said OK but it may not till

next weekend in less I wake up early. I

thought I was just going to have to use the

superanti fee edition to keep the virus

away, but sugar woke me up. one of are

American bulldogs had to go outside. this

was 2am this morning. I call hp. one thing

mike wanted back was the protection mode

on at the bottom of the right side of the

screen. the lady teg help with that and the

quickplay screen that was poping up she

help me was that. she could not help me

last night I had worked for A long time and was doing it on a note pad when i had the post done right I copy pasted it to my bluelight mail corrected the spelling. then copy it again pasted it to the post I proof red it, and saw the style of the post was wrong. it look like some of what I did send in my last post. I copy it back to a note pad and put it in style witch had paragraph in it and ? marks at the end of each question. then I did one more copy of the post went to proof read it again and was about to click send but the page went white and the hole post disappeared. this was late and I was very tried. I copy what was in my bluelight mail witch i thought it was the last email witch I had corrected the spelling in it. it was not that one I had corrected the spelling and it was only part of the message. with out proof reading it I clicked send. when I saw this morning what I had wrote I was very upset with my self. also disappointed in my self. even if it takes 2 or 3 days I will make sure the next post is right before I send it. I really need help now and I know it should be in the virus forum some of it. I might post here to explain what really happen and where I am at now, because this is where I started it. then write it in the virus forum because all the components in my avg virus scanner has disappear and the superanti spyware is all I got to fight the virus till I get the avg scanner working. I will say I am sorry one more time and will try my hardest to get it done right next post. thanks Sharon sham1313

The 1st thing I am going to do before I even correct the spelling is save it and put it in to a new folder on the desk top. then if any thing happen to the post at least I would not have to start all over. all I would have to do is correct the spelling and then copy paste it from the note pad to the post page, proof read one more time. then click send. there is any word to describe the stress and tension that this computer is has been putting me threw.

here is some thing I forgot to tell you. when I did the backup on the disk the avg virus scanner did not back up right, and I don't know why. there is a back up on the computer called a flash voyager, and what it could not hold I put on the disk. there was 2 folder it could not hold. one witch I called sham1313 it had a lot of files I needed to keep, and a folder called hamm. these were put on a disk too. the avg was on the flash voyage also on the disk. they did not backup right. sham1313 just completely disappeared. the other things on the disk were all fine. witch I don't understand that at all.

In one of the post that I have sent you I said HP has walk me threw 2 different restore. I did try telling them that I have been having trouble for quite awhile if it was not one thing it was something els and I did not think I had a restore point that was when every think was working right. but they said I should try it any way.

OK! I said and did the 1st one and still had the same trouble about not being able to update any thing. not even windows and when I tried do a update on AVG I got this.

your computer system time seems to be accurate. this may lead to false virus dataiabase up-to dateness up-to dateness reporting please correct your system time if possible. there was one person here that said he never saw a message like that on any computer thew out all his years working with computer. also a few hp teg other people have told me that to. I think that had to do when we 1st got the computer and I was seeking help. it took awhile to fine out even tho we got the computer at walmart. there was a difference in the model number one ended in the N witch is mine. also one was ending with the letter M. I should have gotten the letter m witch was for American. the letter n was for Spanish people.

now back to the present trouble. after the second restore. he did tell me to do all the updating I could before talking to them again. he did not tell me not to install all the other things I was using to try to get rid of the virus. that was what they thought were causing a lot other trouble I was having. even new problems. like a black screen coming up that had quick play wrote on it the other things. I think it has to do with playing a game. all you have to do is type or surf the web and it would pop up at any time.

I may have this one part I am writing wrote above I should notice and delete it but if not I hope you understand I am getting pretty tried. mainly my eyes. I wear glasses and some time they don't help.

your computer system time seems to be inaccurate. this may lead to false virus dataiabase up-to dateness up-to dateness reporting please correct your system time if possible I finely got that one figure out

Some where in here I had to do a recovery manager because when I tried to do an update it would failed or have and error witch one said this.

2Local machine: installation failed
Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avgemc.exe: creating backup....
Error 0x80070002 %DESTINATION% = "C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG8\avgemc.exe.install_backup_1", %SOURCE% = "C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG8\avgemc.exe" some times some of the component's would disappear when I turn it the computer on and off they would come back just be outdated and on the web sheild says not active then

some times when I click up date it will show the box that the download lines go from side to side just never starts.{ IS THERE SOME THING SOME ONE KNOWS THAT CAN HELP ME GETTING AVG FULLY UPDATED? I only have a few more windows update to do and will be close to having the computer right. some of the other new things it was doing like just writing and email or sufing the net and a black screen would come up and it said quickplay I thing it had some thing to do with playing a game. just out of nowhere it would come up. when one of the hp teg help with that and could not help with the Avg she wanted to do another restore and I said no way. I just have a couple more windows updates and fixing the avg. then I should be good.

ONE THING I WOULD LIKE TO ASK AND I WILL DO SOME IN BIG LETTER SO YOU WILL KNOW I REALLY NEED THE ANSWER IS. WHEN I HAVE HAD A VIRUS BEFORE BUT NOT AS BAD AS THIS ONE I WAS SET a Malwarebytes' antispyware URL to install to help get rid of the virus witch it did do that. I was not told to unstall it. I thought it was some thing to keep to help catch any virus the computer might get. then I catch this virus and was sent another URL witch one was superantispyware. witch would seem to fine more infected things than the others. I don't know if it needs to be deleted or clean up. am I suppose to use it once then unstall it till next time or what? Hp said have one virus protector only. witch I new that. If I need to I could have one like the one I have on my desk top. witch is the superantispyware because with out the avg working right, that is the only thing I got to protect the computer. when I get the avg updated again should I un install the superantispyware? If I need to write for virus help how do I know what to keep and what to unstall?

when they could not help me any more they wanted to take control of my desk top just like they did when I 1st got the computer. even tho we only have A dial up connection. they were able to take over my desk top.
some desktop Icon would not even open. that was a new problem. I did not think I was going to be able to fix the new problems much less fix the one we still had from the beginning. hp said next I needed to do a full recover manager. witch I did sense this has a lot of talk about a virus I believe I should post it in the virus forum too. that is where I should have posted it the 1st from the start. I felt I should post it here to. 1st because it was where I did my 1st post on this issue. maybe some one els needs to learn like I have been learning.

I forget to write this about the AVG I should have wrote this where I was talking about the message that avg given me.

I need to try tonight late tonight if I can and try fixing the avg virus scanner. these are the things that need to be updated on it.ANTI-virus database is outdated, anti-spyware database is out dated, webshield not active Thanks Sharon sham1313 one more question should I post this in the virus froum

one trouble I did not have the trouble with the clock that I had before this , but you see all the other trouble I was now having.
