Not reading Cds

Hi, i was messing around with my windows 98 computer a bit and when tried to play a cd i didn't read it. I checked the My Computer icon and my Disk D drive icon was missing. does anyone know how i can install it back. If not can anyone tell me how to erase my hardrive completely so i can start agin a new. thanks

In the meantime, try...

SCANREG /RESTORE

To see if you can undo the damage.

Just a friendly comment. Erasing the hard disk is not a good idea. If you can't do that, it's unlikely you know how to install this OS. I'd concentrate on fixing the small problem.
