General discussion

Not only do we not torture, we don't kidnap either.

Apr 12, 2005 7:46AM PDT

"American forces were yesterday accused of violating international law by taking two Iraqi women hostage in a bungled effort to persuade fugitive male relatives to surrender.

"US soldiers seized a mother and daughter from their home in Baghdad two weeks ago and allegedly left a note on the gate: "Be a man Muhammad Mukhlif and give yourself up and then we will release your sisters. Otherwise they will spend a long time in detention." "

Apr 12, 2005 7:53AM PDT

you wouldnt last to long in the real world if you ever had to fight.
the way to win is do anything to get the upper hand.

Then you think
Apr 13, 2005 12:12AM PDT

it would be ok to behead this woman and her daughter if we thought it would give us the upper hand?

Mark. Is there any action you would not engage in in order
Apr 13, 2005 8:07AM PDT

to win? Is nothing off limits? Or do you believe in the "Kill them all, God will know His own" theory of combat originated in the 13th Century?

since you wouldnt know what war is how can you understand
Apr 13, 2005 8:20AM PDT

any thing a soldier would do?

you didnt serve so how in the bejessas can you sit and judge?

you dont know a friggan thing about war you never served and thats not a jab at you.

and i dont behead, harm those nice insurgants.

but ill let you be upset all you want in your safe home.

just wish the arm chair warriors would serve in a war zone before they rant about what they nkow knothing about.

you can sit and judge in safety as you wont ever have to face your enemy.
and i beleave in this

kill your enemy before they kill you!
but dont fret rob we will protect the lambs from slaughter.
just remember i served i fought and i saw my friends die in combat.

and to fight a war you fight to win.
anything else is what france does they surrender at a gun shot.

yes i wouldn't behead my enemy
Apr 14, 2005 3:38AM PDT

i wouldn't treat him with kid gloves i wouldn't let the places they shoot at stop me from returning fire.

also i wouldn't let my enemy retreat.

i would do every thing i can to cause them harm death Evan but taking a hostage isn't any different then taking prisoners.
you call it a hostage others call it taking in to custidy.

but i wouldnt spit on my troops way the pc crowd does.

is this responceive enough for you.

remember i and some others here in se served in a war zone and have famially over there.

We?
Apr 13, 2005 1:09AM PDT

This is just another pitiful verse in that whiny anthem: "Proud To Be An Anti-American."

Some are just endlessly critical of this country. Even some who were and are blessed to live or have lived here. Same crowd, droning on and on and on, always bitching about Americans and always siding with whoever opposes Americans...

I read the post but didn't bother with the article, nor do I intend to.

When was the last time all of you gallant noblemen showed the same deep concern for an American that you have always reflexively shown and will always reflexively show toward any and all opponents of the US? Can't answer that one, can ya? Well I can, with one word.

dan as your just another one with no experiance
Apr 13, 2005 5:58AM PDT

we all know your kind

and if it dodsnt hurt to hold for added leverage why complain?

or you tell us how you would do it when you served in a war zone, oh silly me your kind just talks.

- Collapse -
You really think that holding hostages is OK?
Apr 13, 2005 6:40AM PDT

Please tell us you're kidding, Mark. This is too low for an American to stoop to.

Dan

- Collapse -
why?
Apr 13, 2005 7:52AM PDT

does it harm them? not in a min do i find that wrong.

were not fighting people that follow the "rules"

so if we take a hostage to make a person talk where is it wrong?

i for one think its fine as we didnt behead them did we?

not unlike some things disgused as humans that you feel deserve kindness and understand anything thats human.

all these sub humans respect is killing they dont want peace.
remember there not true muslems there mutants

so if it means 1 less death of the good guys you betcha im all for it.
or would you rather have the good guys die because we treated them with kid gloves?

dont bother to reply as we all know your answer.

- Collapse -
You got me, Mark. I'm guilty.
Apr 13, 2005 8:02AM PDT

You are right. I do believe that anything human deserves kindness and understanding. I can't argue my way out of that one.

That, of course, does not preclude punishment and the use of force when needed.

Mark, taking hostages is just plain wrong.

Dan

and the insurgants would love to meet you
Apr 13, 2005 8:22AM PDT

Apr 14, 2005 2:32AM PDT

then maybe youd wake up to what war is.not the kiddy games you played with toy guns when you were a child.
your a good armchair soldier stick to that as to fighting a war your so un realistic.

wish i had you in nam with me you would made a great point man.

Don't forget, "we" know all about "your kind," comrade.

Welcome to the land of the free.

Well maybe I'm the f*gg*t America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda
Now everybody do the propaganda
And sing along in the age of paranoia

Welcome to a new kind of tension
All across the alien nation
Everything isn't meant to be okay
Television dreams of tomorrow
We're not the ones who're meant to follow
Well that's enough to argue
