I noticed the article made no connection (Yet as you would suggest) to GW, or that he gave $ to the RNC. But there's always time to investigate so you'll be happy that there's a connection.

I thought this was about the involvement of a US citizen in the "oil for food" scandal.

Did I miss something, if so it won't be the first time.

We use more oil than any country in the world. No one ever denied the likelyhood that we (both of us) may have burnt some of that oil going to Wal-Mart, but I sure didn't know where it came from, did you? Get back to the people that profited unjustly, knowing it was an illegal act. Isn't that what we want to know?

one is a Bulgarian citizen
one is in Britain
David Bay Chalmers junior. Mr Chalmers, a Houston-based independent oil trader, was wealthy. He had a mansion in Colorado, loved classic sports cars and wore bespoke Italian suits. He drank expensive wines and constantly had a cigar in his mouth.
Mr Chalmers came from a line of oilmen: his great-uncle was Charles Bay, the founder of Bay Petroleum and an ambassador to Norway.
His father was a prominent oil trader with substantial experience in the Middle East.

are you saying
Charles Bay, the founder of Bay Petroleum and an ambassador to Norway.
The man that was appointed by Harry S Truman who knew Mr Bay would have a son and who would be a middle east oil trader and that his son would become "an evil oil trader" and that this conspiracies would start way back in 1946"

American involved in oil for food scandal
Apr 14, 2005 5:04AM PDT

And one American.

There are many here that were boasting that an
American would never get involved in "oil for food" scandal.

Does' the persons background mean they can't be greedy,

You know, like Kofi's son?

A couple of years ago up here in Canada there was a minister in the government that did something unethical and was shipped of the be an Ambassador in a scandinavian country.

Perhaps that how (did something unethical) Charles Bay ended up as ambassador to Norway.

Whenever any reference to Oil for food is made here the usual countries are France, Germany and Russia.

When people just point fingers at the other guy (country) and seldom, if ever say it could happen to them, then it leads people believe certain things.

Here's an example of one post made and the person is an American BUT he was born in Iraq.

The person posting felt it was neccessary to mention the fact that he was born in Iraq, even if they did state it was wrong.

Why mention the person was Iraqi?

well he was an iraqi born american still wrong

Iraqi-born U.S. citizen charged in oil-for-food probe
NEW YORK (AP) ? An Iraqi-American conspired to act as an agent for Saddam Hussein by accepting millions of dollars in compensation and negotiating with U.N. officials to let Iraq sell oil despite international sanctions, authorities said Tuesday.

The charges were the first to be revealed in the probe of allegations that administrators in the United Nations oil-for-food program took bribes and let the ousted Iraqi dictator skim money from the program.

Samir A. Vincent was charged in a criminal information in U.S. District Court, where a grand jury has been looking into the program. In announcing the charges, prosecutors said Saddam's government demanded secret surcharges worth several hundred million dollars as it managed the program with the help of the United Nations.

That is the most convoluted line of reasoning...

I've heard here since, well, yesterday. Your claim, "There are many here that were boasting that an American would never get involved in "oil for food" scandal." appears to be groundless.

I don't remember anyone saying that no American

would be involved in the Oil for Food scandal. I thought it was announced long ago that some Americans or American companies were also involved. Who are your "many"? Links?

And why on Earth do you smear the name of Ambassador Charles U. Bay? There's no evidence that I can find that he did anything inethical. He was not a career diplomat so sending him to Norway would not be a punishment for anything, rather an honor.

I don't think its your concern. Look to your own politicians
