Tried to tap del key at post and get into Cmos setup, reset the configuration , typically F6 I believe. F10 it and exit, restart.
Have you tried to tap F8 or F10 or another key "depending on your PC " at to get into safe mode? Or last known good configuration?
If that yeilds no results, Check your IDE cables, make sure they are tight. Take them off , put back on, may simply be a bad connection. However, it could be a bad IDE cable.
Also, you may have to pull the Cmos battery for a minute or two and put it back in.
If none of this works let me know.
My computer is not booting. It just says F1 to cancel and F2 for setup. When I go into setup it shows no hard drive or CDROM installed. I booted with the Win 2000 backup disks I have and it reloads win 2000 to the point where it asks for the CD and reads off that but when it goes to reboot again it goes back to the F1 to cancel or F2 for setup. Bad circle. I run windows 2000 professional. I think the computer got shut off during a defrag and thats what started this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
