Copy and paste the below link ? ![]()
www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=freeware+partition+manager&btnG=Search.
Sounds as a bug in the url parser (someone changed that part and didn't test it). The probable intention was to automate the www to http://www but it added the reviews.cnet.com too. Also, it's in conjunction with the + (or & etc.) character.

I'm trying to post Updates in V&S and some links are posting fine and others are doing the same thing that Jonah's link is doing. Very strange.
http://www.free-av.com/antivirus/allinonen.html
add this:
copy and paste into your browser to your link www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=freeware+partition+manager&btnG=Google+Search

I'm only having the problem with the URL for the one website. I had the same problem with the second definitions update for the same website, so far the rest of the links have been OK for updates I have posted and the news articles. It looks like Cetin has it figured out as to what happened. I would imagine they will fix it soon if Lee sees this before the weekend LOL
marketing methods that have plaguing the forums, so this may have an affect on some URLs that may have the word "free" listed in the them. Let me know if it becomes a huge issue and I will revisit the filters.
Thanks!

Some of the updates URL's for "free" antivirus programs have the word "free" in them. This particular one updates 2 or 3 times a day and is for "AntiVir P.E. VDF-6.30.00.47". I can still post the updates but NOT the URLs. I don't know how many people it would affect, it's not one of the most popular programs for free antivirus such as AVG or Avast is.
This URL, without the http: or the www would be
free-av.com/index.htm
with the filtering it reads
http://www.free-av.com/index.htm
If I remember correctly, pretty much all of the spam urls contain either:
?r=xxxxxx or
?referrer=xxxxxx
where xxxxx is a referrer number.
If you'll filter out the entire URL for each one that contains a referrer id, that ought to work well without interfering with legit urls.

1. I have this paragraph written that when posted by the forum software, it creates an invalid hyperlink (braces are left off the beginning and end of my link so it'll show):
The TechNet article "url=http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/prmb_tol_cnxc.asp]Application and Service Tools[/url" provides a list of tools useful for troubleshooting applications and services, and information concerning them.
2. The correct URL is that listed above but also provided below. Note that neither links will work after posting to the forum and that even means whether you copy and paste it to a new browser generation -- at least not for me. I can take the actual URL in its generic form and post it to the Address bar all day and it'll work every time -- just not when it has been posted to the forum:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/prmb_tol_cnxc.asp
3. The URL once restructured by the forum software and then initiated by clicking either the hyperlink in #1 paragraph above once posted to the forum or simply the #2 link, it will not work because as you may note, a %20 gets added following the "en-". Example:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-%20us/prmb_tol_cnxc.asp
user opinions, forums, and TalkBacks, the engineers have to do some tweaking before this changes. I'm hoping it is soon, but it may take some time because of other priorities.
I'll let you all know.
Thanks Roddy.
