Not all colors are printing.

by beatrix / March 26, 2005 7:10 AM PST

After installing a new "Compatible Relacement" refilled cartridge of black ink, and also a "Compatible Replacement" color cartridge, the bottom line of my test page shows bars that are not quite black, turquoise blue, purple, army green, not so black again, and that's all. None of the colors are bright, some with streaks of white showing and NO red or yellow bars. I have the HP Deskjet 932C - and it's never ever given me any trouble before. Yes, I bought the cartridges off the internet. The box the black ink came in says Compatible Replacement for Hewlett Packard HP-51645A No 45.

Have you used this brand of cartridges before?
by glb613 / March 26, 2005 7:24 AM PST

If so, did they print correctly?

Not all ink cartridges as created equal. You can try the suggestions mentioned in the other posts but, it may be caused by poor quality ink that can't be fixed.

New Cartridges
by Stan Chambers / March 27, 2005 1:04 AM PST

I find that many times with new cartridges, that it is necessary to run the head cleaning utilitiy in your printers software. Many do not print immediately out of the box. I have an Epson printer, which requires pushing the ink button on the printer. It will then go through a sequence of gyrations, which supposedly prepares the cartridge to print.
Look at your printer properties card for a maintenance tab or some similar name for these options: Head Cleaning, Nozzle Check, or similar, then run the utilities. It may be necessary to run this several times to start the proper flow of ink.
Best of Luck

Cleanings Done, No Change

Stan - I found the "calibrate" and "clean the print cartridges" and ran that about 3 times, with no difference in colors. I also did as the sellers advised, to set the cartridge on a tissue and let it bleed for 5 minutes to "clear" the possible problem. It didn't work either. Seems I have a faulty cartridge no matter what I do. Thanks for your input - Jocelyne

"Compatible Relacement"

Does not guarantee an EXACT replacement!!! They seem to work but the colors are not accurate so they are compatible. John
