Not Adobe Bashing, Just actual data from Encoding.com :-)

May 2, 2010 12:06AM PDT

Dear Buzz Gang and Crew,
Hey people, I just wanted to make sure that you know that I am not attempting to bash Adobe. I occasionally develop in Flash as well. There is an interesting statistical data chart that came out from "Encoding.com" which provides video encoding services to websites like MySpace and MTV. Last year Encoding.com provided over 5 million videos online so the chart they produced is based on their experiences.

The chart indicates the following:

In the past 4 quarters: H.264 video format went from 31% to 66%
In the same 4 quarters: Flash VP6 and FLV went from 69% to 26%

Keep in mind that this is only the experiences of this one service "Encoding.com", but it does show a pattern beginning to emerge.

Just a thought. Later People.
