We have a recent discussion on that. It appears that no one is being honest with you to tell you that IE is burnt deep into this OS. If you want to use something else, DO THAT but if you insist be warned it's not easy or cheap.

After I download a file, whether it be from an email or a download site, it will not open no matter what I do. I was told I may have a virus in the Internet Explorer, which I want to get rid of IE and use Firefox anyway. I have tried several tech supports and NO ONE knows what to do. Please help.
