Since you can check those I'll share only what I found to help a recent event like this.
1. I had to create a new admin account which used a LOCAL LOGIN and that worked.
2. I had to be off the network, reboot and then try it one more time.
Remember there are tomes about it on the web so I'll just add what I used.
And yes, the LOCAL LOGIN is on the web too. Good reading and something to know about Windows 8 and 10.
Since upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 I have not been able to create a home group on my HP Envy 7240 laptop. I had another but older Toshiba laptop that I updated to Windows 10 as well. On that computer I was able to create a home group with no problems. Every time I try to create a home group or add my HP laptop to the home group I get the same error. "Windows cannot create a home group on this computer." I have tried using the trouble shooter function but it cannot find the problem and it always says the trouble is in the network setup on my computer. So I tried using the network trouble shooter and still no fix. What do I have to change or fix so I can create a home group in Windows 10? I have tried everything I can think of and I am about ready to do a full format on the hard drive and then installing Windows 10 again. When I installed Windows 10 the network was setup as a public network and later after I finished installing Windows 10 I changed it to a private network and from what I can see my network setup seems to be a private network but the system still acts like it is in a private network. Boy am I confused?
