It supports a wide range of drives. Be sure the media is not upside down and always try another make of CDR media. What can confound most is that these drives don't last very long so when posting tell us how old the drive is.
Other common cures are CD/DVD lens cleaners, different media, burning at 2X and replacing the drive.
I have a dell dimention e510.
My drive is HL-DT-ST-DVD+/-RW GWA 41648
I can play cds and put other discs in no problem. however, when I go to burn something it will not recognize a blank disc. I received a new harddrive back in november and this is the first time I have tried to burn anything. It worked before that--any ideas? I am using windows player and/or sonic.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
