Question

Not able display PC monitor info on TV

Jan 2, 2015 8:09AM PST

I have a Samsung TV Model # LN-T4065FX/XAA. I have connected the TV PC Input to the VGA port on my PC. When I go to setup the TV for the PC, it is not highlighted and I'm not able to set it for the PC. The TV is connected the HDMI is also connected.

Also, I am able to set up my PC for duplicate, so both the PC monitor and the TV should be displayed.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks a mil, Uncle Dewey

Answer
I'm going with no.

Duplicating the display is usually not possible as the PC display is one resolution and this looks to be 1920x1080. There are reasons for the TV to not show the PC input on Samsungs. Here's a video about pin 10.

That's one of the hurdles. The next is that resolution issue when duplicating a display.

The final hurdle is that many PCs don't have the vga output enabled. This is non standardised so we're hunting for details or a product manual.

Not able display PC monitor info on TV

Dear RP,

I have had two PC monitors one connected to the VGA port and the other connected to the DVI port. My TV and my computer have VGA ports, but I cannot set the PC on the Samsung TV Setup as it is not highlighted and which the user manual tells me to use. In addition this TV was used as a duplicate monitor on my previous HP Computer, but using the s-video feature--the TV display was excellent

Thanks for your interest. Uncle Dewey

So another PIN 10 issue.

Looks like you need to solve that first.
