with My Computer or Windows Explorer on that DVD, on both this computer and the two you installed it on when the media still was OK. Set the Folder Options to "NOT hide extensions of known file types", and you should be able to find battlefieldxx.exe (.exe being the file extension for an executable file) in the root folder of that dvd (I prefer detail view in cases like this). Then run it by doubleclicking.
Post back your experiences.
By the way, does the license for the DVD allow multiple installs?
On an Amd X2-4200 with 2Gb DDr, Win XP Pro sp2 (all updates), 400Gb Hdd space Sata (no raid), dual-ATI x1600Pro video cards (crossfire mode). I've run Norton '06 av, ad aware, spybot s/d, all clean. I'm "attempting" to install Battlefield 2142 but when the dvd is accessed I get the error message 'd:\battlefieldxx :not a valid win32 application". I have sucessfully installed the prog on two other systems (P4 and an A7) so I know the media is ok. I'm baffled since there are no obvious sw conflicts or system errors in the logs.
