I stumbled across this WWII war fact.
It seems that the Nazi war machine confiscated the fish supply of Norwegians that of course they loved. The mere fact of taking food that would normally be part of the Norwegian diet. Norwegian resistance pounced on a plan to sabotage the fish supply being sent to Germany. Much of this fish now canned, had oil laced with medicine to cause diarrhea gotten from British SOE. Add further much of this canned fish(sardines) was then given to the German Navy, mostly it's U-boat submariners. You can guess what was already a bad plight of submariners being worsen and that the food supply is generally very keen for submariners. Well...I'll got leave it at that, must "trot" off to work. -----Willy
