Norton Recall -- a while ago --

by zeebell / November 30, 2004 11:52 AM PST

Don't panic -- everything is fine with Norton, as far as I know (I don't use) ---- but I couldn't think of a better subject.

I read JR's post in the Rant about Norton where he had purchased Norton and would put on PC at a later date. This made me think about a situation I had with Norton when installing on a friend's PC.

I installed and could never really get it to work properly. It kept wanting the serial # again and again and would never really do its thing. I finally gave up and suggested she put Lavasoft's AVG on, which she did.

Since she still had her receipt, I also suggested that she return (Walmart). She did and found out that on that particular one, there had been a recall by Norton. Even though she had purchased program 6 months before and the time had expired for returns, they still honored the return and reimbursed her due to Norton's recall.

Lesson learned ----- always save your receipts (LOL).

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
