Norton Internet Security blocks internet access.

by Jillandkev / November 19, 2004 6:26 PM PST

Hi, I am running AOL 9 and Broadband. My problem is I have just upgraded to Norton antivirus 2005 and cannot access the internet without disabling the Internet security element of the package. When it automatically enables itself after the set time period I am immediately disconnected. I have not had connection problems with previous versions of Norton. Can you help please?

Open Norton Internet Security. Under "Norton Internet Security" select "Status & Settings"..."Personal Firewall"..."Configure." In the new window on the top click "Programs." At the bottom click "Program Scan..." In the "Program Scan" window click "Next>". After a complete system scan, you should be able to access the Internet.

hi -- i am grappling with the same problem (NIS preventing internet access). laptop is brand new, and i just installed DSL - connection was (briefly) fine, then i installed NIS and now i can't access. i followed instructions above to try to knock out the firewall but it says that i don't have supervisor privileges to configure. when i try to "log in", in an effort to get prvileges, it asks me for an account number and password, which i never gave when i installed it. any suggestions? incredibly frustrating.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
