Norton Internet Security

by santas lil helper / October 25, 2004 12:21 AM PDT

I installed Norton Internet Security 2005 and it made my PC run really slowly. I uninstalled it and my PC runs normally again. I have a laptop that came with it already installed and it runs fine there. Am I doing something wrong with the installation? I chose all the default settings. Or is there some way I can just install the anti-virus part of the software and leave out all the rest?

My PC has 512 mb of RAM and a 40gb hard drive. I didn't get the option to do a custom install it just asks if I want to install norton anti-virus - I click on a box to select it and then it installs the entire program.

"The configuration wizard helps you perform initial configuration for the various product features, such as parental controls, the personal firewall, and ad blocking, and then it runs LiveUpdate to retrieve the latest virus definitions and program updates. Completing both the setup and configuration wizards is necessary for a successful installation."
