Go with what you want!
I find McAfee retail products to be right up there with any software you find in the bargain bin. But that's just me because I get to uninstall that stuff too often and just install Zonealarm and AVG.
This is your personal choice to make here, but the 2004 version of Norton is just misfiring for some.

Have been runnning XP Home on a 1.60 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP, 384 MB Ram, HP Oficejet600 Comb printer,Award Software International, Inc. 6.00 PG Award Software International, Inc. 6.00 PG, HP 8200E CD-Writer, 40 gig Primary, 80 gig Slave. Have had several small problems which I have finally traced to The Anti-virus portion of Norton Internet Security.
After no solution response from Norton have removed Internet Security and reinstalled only the Security portion (Fire wall) and installed The free AVG anti-virus. I know That alot of you here think the sun rises & sets on AVG, but for some reason I just don't like it. My Question is can I keep the Norton firewall in Place and use McAfee anti-virus for virus protection. Any suggestions or comments will be greatly.
