norton help

i have norton internet securtiy 2003 and the intrusion detection has switched it's self off. when i try to switch it back on it says-failed to save settings.please verify that your windows account is not restricted. please could you help.

what version of Windows? if XP or 2000, you need to make sure your login is set up as Power User or Administrator. if you are the only user, you ought to be. have you run a virus or spyware scanner recently? some viruses take away Administrator authority as part of their action and leave you with a system that you can't remove the virus from because you don't have enough authority anymore.

boot up into safemode to get the Administrator log in to show up.....then the settings can be changed there and rebooted to normal desktop.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
