Norton Ghost

Has anyone here used Norton Ghost for backing up your hard drive and saving it to DVD?
I tried several times to back up my hard drive without success. I got into the Symantec web site and it is telling me that my Sony DRU 500A burner is not supported. Not only that I can't find any sony burners supported. I find that very strange.
It will let me backup on CD but I really don't want to use 64 discs to image my hard drive.
I have E-mailed Symantec tech support for help but their 24 hour response time always turns into 24 days.
Any suggestions?

Just asking.

Since your drive is not supported, why not return it?

Check with ACRONIS to see if they support your model.

I agree.
Surprisingly enough Symantec tech support e-mailed me back and gave me some crap about using 3rd party DVd authorizing software etc,etc and so on.
I will be sending the software back as I didn't buy it to have to fix their problems.

Why not get rid of the Norton? R. Proffitt suggests getting a new burner. Au Contraire, mon ami! I'd go to www.infostar.com, give Peter a small donation as webmaster, go to his AV page and get a new free AV program. I bought ZoneAlarm Security Suite and I love it.
Dump the Norton!
