Norton blocking Incredimail ..Help!!!

I just bought a new laptop with the 30day free Norton 360 included. I installed Incredimail which I used without problems on my previous laptop. I can sent emails out, but cannot receive them. I went into settings to 'allow' Incredimail, but it still isn't working. Same thing ..can send emails but cannot receive. I've unsuccessfully looked for help from both Norton & Incredimail. If you have a step by step plan(for a novice technie) to fix the problem with Norton, I would very much appreciate it.

Sorry but with Free AVG and others why put up with Norton?

Does your mail server require SSL?

Hi cheeka11,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

If your email server requires the use of SSL than you need to disable the email scanning feature in Norton 360, as SSL is not supported. Even if you disable this feature, the real-time scanning engine called Auto-Protect will still scan both your incoming and outgoing email for threats.

If you already added your email client to the allowed list in the Norton Firewall, check the rule and make sure that you are allowing both incoming and outgoing connections. If the rule is set correctly and you still cannot receive email, then try selecting the "Reset" button next to the Norton Firewall.

Lastly, although the LiveUpdate feature is automatic in Norton 360 version 3, you can manually run LiveUpdate to ensure that you have the latest patches applied.
