Pardon, I meant to put AVG Free.
I'm running XP Pro with Norton Antivirus and Ad Aware. Would it be compatible and advantageous to also run AVD Free? Thanks.

Hi,
AVG with Ad-aware - OK
NAV with Ad-aware - OK too
NAV & AVG is not OK because it can cause conflict (monitoring, scanning) and can cause slowdown of your system. You can install both AVG & NAV if you wish but you must only run 1 Antivirus as real-time scanner (also known as On-Access scanner) while the other Antivirus is On-demand scanner only or a backup scanner.
You may allow both automatic update enable but make sure only 1 is configured to scan and monitor your files in real-time.
Hope the above helps.
Yes, you can run AVG as an "on demand" AV - never together with your running on startup AV. If you scan with AVG - you have to disable NAV. Otherwise you are looking for trouble.
