by lindaj78648 / October 26, 2004 4:45 PM PDT

i purchased a gateway PC in 2001. all software, including norton, was installed prior to shipping. i have restore disks only (fromgateway) need to remove the norton program to replace it with a new anti virus/firewall/spamblocker program. uninstall of norton is unsuccesful and i cannot use the new software until norton is removed. can anyone help me? Symantic no longer has information for this procedure and gateway cannot tell me how to uninstall the norton, says i have to contact norton. add/remove software will not remove norton, says file cannot be located. THANKS

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
