I had Norton Antivirus 2004 on my HP computer. A program was accidently deleted off of my computer, so I had to use the System Restore CD to get it back. I did JUST THE RESTORE, NOT the restore and backup of files, so my .wps files, etc. were not deleted.
The program is back and working fine now, but The Norton Antivirus program is all f***ed up. First of all the program doesn't show up in the bottom-right hand corner of the screen (next to the clock, etc) like it use to. However, the Symantec Auto live update does its thing every couple of minutes. In the Add/Remove program under the Control Panel, the only symantec/norton thing I see listed is the Auto Live Update. I was gonna remove it, BUT when I cliked remove, it said: "We've detected other Symantec programs on your computer. Before you remove this program, you should remove all the other Symantec related programs first." I didn't remove it.
I tried to install the program again, but while it was installing, A window popped up saying "we've encountered an error while installing. Continue?" I kept clicking retry, and it looked like it kept installing, but nothing happend, so I clicked cancel.
What do I do NOW!!!!!?????????
