Noob purchasing a TV, help!

Hi all.

I am going to be purchasing a LCD HDTV. I don't want anything over 38", and my price range is anything below $799.

I will be using the tv to watch blu ray movies and playing games on my PS3. What are some things that I should look out for? Do you guys have any recommendations on tv's to buy? thanks.
