1) Your Bose V25 is probably converting the LPCM 2.0 signal to 5 channels based on some setting you have on the Bose. If you set your Bose to "stereo" or "direct audio" or something like that I bet it wouldn't try to use the rear speakers for that kind of signal.
2) I would avoid having your Bose receiver to the upscaling to 1080p because the video processors in receivers like that are usually very basic. I would tell your PS3 to output 1080p, and let everything else output at its native resolution. Your Vizio TV should upscale anything lower rez than 1080p up to its native rez more effectively than what the Bose will do.
i have a couple of noob questions.
first, i have a boxee box connected to bose v25 via hdmi when playinging a video with a
mp3 audio the bose displays lpcm 2.0 and i am getting sound from the
rear speakers is the way it is suppose to be?
second, all of my av devices are 1080p capable, boxee box wdtv live hd,
ps3, directv hr24-500, bose v25 lifestyle hts, and a vizio 47" hdtv that is native 1080p. i
have all of my devices connected to the bose via hdmi and then hdmi to
tv except for ps3 which i have hdmi to tv and optical to bose. my
question is, should i set all devices to 1080p or should i set them to
their native format and let the bose do the upscaling or should i
let the tv upscale everything?
hope i made sense thanks
