Non-Existent Customer Service

Dec 6, 2017 6:23AM PST

I went online to take advantage of a Cyber Monday deal on the Note. Placed my order, OPENED AN ACCOUNT with Samsung Financing, and then waited.

Samsung Financing contacted me within an hour with the account number, and a $3000 limit. All is good so far.

A couple of days later, I contacted Samsung Direct Support to check on the status of my order, and was informed that everything was fine, but that it hadn't shipped. So I kept waiting.

A few days later, I contacted them again, but this time was informed that my order had been "suppressed" (WTH does that mean?) because of a problem with the bank (there was no "Bank" involved - it was Samsung Financing, and they had already approved me). The "Customer service rep" told me to "contact the bank".

When I informed him that there was no bank, that my charge at Samsung Financing was "pending" - over several emails, he just kept telling me to talk to the bank (hello - no bank here). AND he kept telling me to "place another order".

When I finally agreed, in principle, to placing another order - I told him that I was worried that I wouldn't get the same deal and asked if you could give me a special URL to get the same order again. Note that the deal was only about $80 cheaper than it is today - so I wasn't asking for a lot. He told me that "deals are time sensitive, feel free to look at today's deals".

WHAT?!? Samsung can't even offer the SAME deal for my inconvenience? Samsung - if you're listening - you LOST a customer before you even had one! I have NEVER had such a poor interaction with a "Customer Service" rep in my life. You didn't even gain me as a customer before giving me poor support. That's a first.

As much as you may not like Apple - at least they provide excellent customer support. They even gave me a 25% discount off of a new Mac because they couldn't fix the problem with my old Mac that was OUT OF WARRANTY. Now THAT's Customer Service. I think I'll just upgrade to the new iPhone 8.

You wonder why people stay with the iPhone? Here's an excellent reason why.
