Let me disregard all the negatives in your post. Read how others use The LaCie Miracle at http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6142_102-0.html?threadID=390323&tag=forums06;forum-threads to recover files.
But what I didn't tell is that I use that to boot up and delete such things.
I'm sure there are other ways but I have my way so here's hoping you don't feel like I'm forcing this on you.
Heres Microsoft again jamming their way of doing things down our throats:
Assume I cannot get administrator access to my networked pc to turn off system restore on my ext. usb hdd (thus deleting its contents). Ive got 30 damn gig in the SVI directory and I want it all gone! So far Ive managed to strip the system, hidden, and read-only attributes and wont delete or even rename. Is there a program in RAM that has a lock on this directory? Which one?
Will any non-administrator actions, say from the dos-prompt, that will finally kill this directory?
