Acer Aspire 1694 with Intel 2200BG Windows XP SP2
I have moved on from the 'limited or no connectivity' problem (now solved) to try and get internet access. I think I know why but I can't see a solution.
My NetGear WGT624v3 router set 192.168.1.1 as its IP address and attached devices are numbered from 192.168.1.2 - but my laptop sets router IP as 192.168.0.1 and even though I have delved into internet protocol properties and set the TCP/IP address manually to 184.108.40.206, the wireless connection (support) shows 220.127.116.11
How do I force the wireless connection to use the correct IP address? Any help with be appreciated.
I also have a NetGear USB wireless device and that works fine on the laptop with the correct IP address.
