Question

No wifi after trojan

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio with windows 7. I have no home internet access and rely on friends or public libraries etc for access. About a month ago my laptop was infected with the "police trojan" which i removed with trojankill, then removed the remnants with malawarebytes and combofix. It is now operating ok except i have no wireless internet access, even though i can get online with an ethernet cable. Any help would be appreciated.thanks

No model number.

This means I can't check if this has some helper app to turn on/off the WiFi. Go check sony for that.

If it's not a helper app ...

I'm afraid you have to do the system recovery to go back to factory condition.

Luckily, your laptop still works, so you can make a backup of all your personal files and won't lose anything but some time.

Now that you know that.

Head to Sony's page on your machine with the drivers and apps. I'd look at the WiFi driver and any helper app that turns on/off the WiFi then install both.

You can find this faster than me because most owners have that page bookmarked.
