No volume control when playing music or video on Android

May 24, 2015 9:04PM PDT

When playing music or video through the built-in speaker my Moto G (Android) doesn't respond to the volume control. The volume level appears on screen, and changes, but audio continues to be played at what seems to be full volume. Using headphones the volume control seems to work fine. Any way round this?

Thanks for your reply

Thanks for your reply. The issue wasn't specific to one particular app, it was at least happening in both Chrome and Shazam, so I suspect it may have been affecting all apps although I hadn't tried any others. As it happens though, I've just upgraded to the latest version of Android, which seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks anyway.

This complaint is now all over the web.

It appears that Google's Youtube is front and center in many of these complaints. Call it in if the reset fails to correct it.
