Question

no VGA signal to my monitor

Mar 9, 2015 6:32AM PDT

I have connected 2 different monitors to my E Machines T6420 Desktop and both screens say NO SIGNAL DETECTED and the monitors go into sleep mode.
I replaced the motherboard many years back with an ASUS A8V-VMSE.
What is the problem and can a card be replaced or is this integrated into the motherboard.
All I want to do is copy all the pictures I have into an external drive and then probably toss this computer.
Thanks

You can easily see if the VGA port is on the motherboard or not, most often even without opening the case.

But if you have the case open, just get the hard disk out, put it in a compatible enclosure, connect to another PC and copy all you want.

and if there's settings in there for Video, then it has integrated video. Also easy to see if the VGA is connected near the PS/2 plugs which means internal, or down where the card slots are at. This motherboard was in the "bad caps" era, so check those. Also the Socket A would be quite old now, but replacements are only about $5 on Ebay.
