No Surround Sound

Feb 1, 2009 2:08PM PST

I have purchased an HT-AS720ST receiver and a BD-2500 BD player connected to an LN46A650 TV. I'm trying to fine tune my surround sound and currently I'm playing with all the functions and modes on the receiver. I've turned Anynet+ off. My question is does the receiver save settings for both HDMI inputs or will I have to change settings each time I switch? (I have direct TV being installed later this month.

Example:

BD player is set for input HDMI1-AVR and Dolby Pro Logic llx mode set to Cinema.

I'll be getting a Satellite receiver and will set that for HDMI2.

Will I have to reset my receiver back to the settings Ive written above if I switch to HDMI2 to watch TV?

I plan to get a universal remote and shelf all three of my Samsung remotes and I don't want to have to fuss with changing all my settings each time I watch a movie or TV.

Sorry for the title, I was going to ask about why my rear speakers may not be working. I haven't changed my Dolby Pro Logic llx mode yet and will make sure its not set to PL before I have any questions regarding that.

Save settings...

owall83,

I do believe (offhand, and without looking) that they will save the input specific settings. Our televisons do that, so I don't see why the AS720 wouldn't.

Not wanting to change those settings makes sense. That's a lot of work.
