Question

No streaming audio in Win XP SP III

Apr 2, 2012 12:59PM PDT

Loud speakers work for audio and video but no audio is heard for streaming video. Everything was normal until this problem developed two weeks ago. Can somebody help with some solution?

If you have music files and video files stored on your hard drive and when you run those the audio works in each one, then it is strange that audio does not work when web site streaming.

Is that all video sites? Is it for all web player plugin types, eg Flash, Quicktime, WMP, and so on?

Have you tried the same sites with a different browser?

And sorry but I have to ask the obvious, does the plugin player's volume control show muted, or show audio levet at zero or very low?

What changed since this last worked?

That's an odd one. Why did it lose access?

I'm betting malware or registry cleaners.
