No sound with HDMI cable from my laptop t.v.

Mar 5, 2009 11:08AM PST

Just bought a new 42 inch LG t.v. for my room. I've hooked up the HDMI cable from my laptop to my t.v. Picture is there, but there is no sound. I've gone to my control panel > sound > and enabled High Definition audio. I've even set it as my default audio output. Still no sound. When I click "test" next to the High Def audio it plays a little tune and I hear THAT through my t.v. but no other audio will come through. Any help is appreciated.

Mirror or clone?

A "mirror" image would be something new. But a clone of the desktop is normal. It's one of the two options of "extend" or "clone" (copy) the desktop.
