No Sound with DVDs !!!

Hey,

Well i just installed WindowsMedia Player 10 which supposedly plays DVDs and its true but the sound is not playing!!! i tried almost everything that i know but no use! Can anyone help?

PS: i can listen to anything else from mp3s to music cds.

my computer's specs:
PIV - 2.66 intel chipset
1.5 GB ram
Built-in Sound - D865Perl Motherboard

Windows and WMP do not play DVDs.

But might after you install WinDVD, PowerDVD or other such DVD playing software.

Without such, no one can help you. It's a license thing.

You need to check the settings on your sound card's Play

controls. The DVD probably falls under the CD audio option. It should not be nulled out, and the volume should be set at max.

If you can see the video portion of the DVD, which your post suggests is the case, you undoubtedly have the software needed to decode the audio.
