Resolved Question

No sound with and without headphones! : (

Aug 31, 2013 8:59AM PDT

I can hear my voicemail though. This happened before but that time headset icon stayed on whether in or out. I found about about some sound app online and it fixed it that time. I tried...I think...the same app but no luck. Also tried pluging..unplugging etc. earphones and even did factory reset. Seems like alot of people have this problem with Samsungs but each case a little different. BTW...no warranty and cant afford new one! Thank you for any help!!!

Did you try it at the service counter?

Usually I have to demo this at a service counter and they may try to re-flash the phone then exchange it.

Are you running into folk that think today's smart phones can be repaired?

I know we can change a few parts but most are bricks.

But it is 6 months old no contract phone. I don't think they'll do anything. ..atleast for free. Happy Any ideas? Thanks for your help Bob!

A warranty is a warranty....

....it doesn't matter that you are not in a contract. Worst case is that you contact the manufacturer directly for warranty service. Good luck.

In his first post he says "no warranty".
I wonder why. Isn't a one-year warranty standard in the USA?

The no-contract phones, the new ones you get in a box or such have 1 year warranty.

Of course you may have to have your receipt to make it easy to get it taken care of.

But with very nice smart phones that can be had for 70 USD no contract I didn't take out any insurance.

Maybe im just pessimistic. ..how does it work? Do I need the reciept? Do they send it away to get fixed or replaced? Thanks for help...Vanessa

It's very likely they send it out for repair

Yes, you will need a receipt. Reading the fine print at purchase usually helps <ahem> Wink
