Question

No Sound when using a AV reciever

Jan 5, 2015 8:18PM PST

Hi this is my first post on the forum, so hi everyone & thank you for the help in advance.

I have a
TV: Samsung UE40F5500,
AV: Yamaha YHT 1810
PS3:

I have searched the forum & found some advice but none seem to work, I am using this set up so I can watch tv as well as play games on the PS3 as have a wheel & seat setup for racing games.
Everything works well other than Im having to use a optical cable to hear the TV through the AV: I have gone thru as many settings as I can but nothing. TV & AV says they support ARC!!
Your help will appreciated.

ARC is hit and miss and I use the optical link to finish such setups all the time. If you feel that it should work, call it in. I take it you know which ports do arc.

Answer
av rec arc
Jan 10, 2015 4:57AM PST

I have a onkyo 626 Had to read the e-manual a few times to get arc to work. Had to refer to different instructions on different pages. No simple plug and play. First on a Vizio [since gone long story- lemon]
Replaced with a UN48H6350 Didn't do anything with the TV, just plugged it in and it worked and got pop up on screen that it was recognized. When I turn the av rec on, it automatically turns off the TV speakers.
