ARC can be like that.

HT is not dead

Thank you for the response but i don't think the HT is dead as it works fine with my old Samsung 40" TV.
I have checked your link and the connections are good.
My Samsung is in Home Mode.

Now it gets complicated.

ARC, CEC is troublesome at times. Try another cable, be sure you're on the right port and if so, call it in to Samsung to repair the set.

Back to the shop then ...

for advice, for warranty, and for the missing manual that tells how to reach tech support.

A week old failed TV?

Here that's inside the 14 to 15 day return period. Kees and I live in different countries so here we return failed products when it's new rather than get a runaround from the maker.

In Kees country I think their rules are the seller must support the product. Your country may be different.

Try this

Unplug power of both, disconnect HDMI cable and wait 5 minutes. Then plug in TV first and power it on. Connect HDMI cable. Then plug in Sony and power it on. Check that both the TV and Sony HDMI Controls are enabled. Choose to use only one of your remotes (either will do) to control both TV and Sony by programming it. If it works but breaks again in future you can redo the steps or disable ARC altogether and use Toslink for TV sound. May have to adjust video/audio sync then. Not ideal but that the price to pay for lousy TV speakers. You cannot use an external tuner without replacing the Sony. Good luck.
