No sound on Smart TV Apps

Hi I have a Hisense Smart TV connected to a Samsung Sound Bar. The TV connection runs through Foxtel. I have the sound connected via HDMI Arc from the TV to the Sound Bar and an optical cable from the sound bar to Foxtel but get no sound on the TV Apps - help please

Tough issue.

Arc doesn't always work which is why the nod is always to a receiver which has better options but let's try this other setup.

Try optical only from TV to soundbar and set the TV to send over optical as well as set all sources and TV to PCM or Stereo. If this works then look in each app's audio options for more options. We know Netflix might ignore the TV settings and in the Netflix app there are audio options.

I don't know all the Netflix versions out there so if you ask me where this is, I can't answer.

Tv Apps no sound thru sound bar via arc

Thanks for that will certainly try that. At the moment I have figured out if I don't switch on the sound bar and change the speakers back to tv speakers I can get sound in the apps. Just a nusuiance to switch back and forth. Will let u know when I buy another optical cable - your feedback is much appreciated - Jean
