Same old issue?

Drivers, apps, etc. Microsoft issues the OS, the makers issues drivers and for laptops and most other machine apps to control on/off of wifi, sound and things.

What you are seeing a lot of today is that folk have forgotten the basics of how Microsoft works.

They do the OS, the makers issue the drivers. Yes, 10 did a little better on drivers than before but read the forums. Nope, not even close to 100.

Either

Worked fine, but next time I booted I again had no sound. How can I make it remember what I did?

Try this::
Control Panel
Sound
Double click on Headphone/Speaker
Advanced
Change the quality of sound, it should range from 16 bit CD quality to 24 bit Studio quality.
Test all the settings, one will work.
Restart.
