no sound icon in system tray

by janice / November 7, 2003 9:33 AM PST

windows 98 SE - pentium ll
When I tried to upgrade my sound driver at gateway it uninstalled the old but I could not get new one to work. Used restore CD to get the old driver back and all works well but I don't know how to put the speaker icon back in tray.Checked in misconfig but could not find anything I thought I should check.
Also should each question be a seperate post as it was on the old forum?

Go to the Control Panel

Double click on Multimedia icon

At the bottom of the Multimedia window you will file a check box for "Show volume control on the taskbar."
