No sound from laptop

by vaioroxio / September 18, 2009 5:37 AM PDT

Hi, I'm looking for some advice!! I recently recovered a laptop from a complete crash by reinstalling Xp!!! Everthing was great until I tried to play a cd in windows media player & I got an err.

When I went to the control panel, it says there's no audio device and for playback no default device.......

I've tried going to both the Acer & Realtek websites to download audio drivers but nothing seem to happen after I unzip the file & install them.

Any suggestions?

Use Acer's supplied or the Restore Media you made for this machine. Clean installs for laptops are too hard. Use the OS that machine came with.

Acer (all I used)

Also had a recovery from the hard disk option. Use that.

As to no restore media, I can only guess you opted not to maker those. Order them since installing drivers is time consuming and costly. Plus you don't have an install plan that works.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
