No sound from Kenwood VR 60RS

Feb 15, 2015 10:54PM PST

My Kenwood VR 60RS A/V tuner has been disconnected for about three years and had to be re-programmed from scratch. I reset the microprocessor and followed the manual's setup instructions but can get no audio at all from the radio/tuner or CD function....not even test tones. The speakers are connected properly, mute is OFF and speakers are ON. The tape/monitor function is OFF. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong that is preventing me from receiving any audio at all....not even white noise?

what the problem is/are with any certainty. If the light is on then you know there's power. Next might be to check the speaker fuse if any or any rest button if any and ALL switches are set in the proper positions. Other than that, I would suggest a repair shop...if you want to fix the thing.

To try the speaker on any other device. No, I'm not writing the speakers are bad/blown but we need to be sure that the connections at this receiver are good all the way to the speakers. So I lift the connection to a speaker from the receiver and see if another sound can make sound.

But a trip to the shop is unlikely today http://www.amazon.com/Sony-STRDH550-5-2-Channel-Receiver/dp/B00J30GXW2/ref=CNET is under 200 here and shop counter charges in this town start at over 100.
