No Sound! All devices reportedly 'working properly'

Oct 22, 2004 4:09AM PDT

Windows 98, speakers are built-in on my faily new Compaq flat screen moniter. I have had no sound for quite some time.

One possible factor, when I switched from a DSL connection to cable, did I need to do anything to my sound devices? I ask because as I look under multimedia audio devices, it says "Audio for 56K modem ..." and also a sound blaster device.

However, I also don't get any of the regular sounds that windows makes. Nor do CDs have sound. And no, it is not muted.

Sounds like a hardware issue?? Where do I start?
