I just installed a DVD burner replacing a CD burner. I have no sound either. I did plug the audio cable in, but perhaps I did it wrong.
I have a Windows XP Gateway w/ N1996 motherboard.
There are three jacks, one green, one yellow, one black. I tried all thee. It is a I/O Magic 16X DVD+-RW/+-R. Did you find out what to do? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I installed a Mad Dog Dominator 6 in 1 Dual drive.( replaced a DVD drive) It works just fine but I have lost all sound on my computer...It is plugged in correctly.. I wrote to the company and they sent this reply:Make sure you have the audio cable plugged in from the back of the drive to the sound card. Also, depending on which one of our drives you have, you may need some additional software to watch movies, if you have a Dominator 6-in-1 or a Megastoer 6-in-1 or 7-in1, you will need one of these software programs:

I installed 2 of their suggestions but it didn't help. Has any one else run into this problem? I have an HP desktop running Windows XP..... HELP please... my email is laniem40@hotmail.com
