No sound after firmware upgrade

Dec 13, 2009 10:09AM PST

I just upgraded my LN32B360C5D firmware to 1016.1, and the sound stopped working. Is it possible to rollback to the previous firmware version?

Thanks.

Figures... you screw up and blame everyone else... everyone on this post decided they are a technician and want to FIX WHAT ISN'T BROKEN... ya know, my microwave works fine, so let me put new firmware on it for no reason other than I am bored. Oh crap, now my microwave burns everything I put in it... must be the manufacturers fault. No, the fault is YOURS... quit complaining.. nobody told you to upgrade your firmware, so why are you hunting around their Web site looking for updates when there was nothing wrong with your TV in the first place... suck it up and quit blaming people for your mistakes.

I Fixed the problem.

Like others I updated to the newest release (1021.1)
and like others I lost sound!
FIX:
If you have a PC and it's hooked up to the HDMI port:
Go to your video driver (mine is Nvida) then:
1. Choose: "HDMI -HDTV(Audio Enabled)" -> Apply
2. Choose: "HDMI -HDTV(Audio Disabled)" -> Apply
The sound should be back.

The problem seems to be related to the way the TV chooses the audio source. It looks like the TV is stuck looking for audio from the HDMI cable instead of from the RCA jacks. This switching the HDMI signal from audio to no-audio seems to get it back. Good luck everyone. I hope this is the last time you bought a Samsung TV. My Panasonic is much better then this one. They have there own issues with audio on the HDMI cable as well.. ;-(
