No sound after emergency restore on HP Compaq nx6325

Nov 2, 2012 1:14AM PDT

Hi, i performed an emergency restore on my laptop as it was running slow and i wanted to freshen things up, since i have done it i now have no sound, i have checked all volumes are turned on, checked device manager for any problems and none are reported, drivers are turned on and i have also tried reinstalling the drivers but still no luck Sad

You didn't reveal why you did that.

It's certainly not used to freshen things up. But that's what I read. Now it could be the sound is muted or set too low but again, do not use those restore features for what you wrote.

i do not have a windows disc so i used emergency restore to restore my laptop back to just after factory settings, since this i now have no sound, obviously the volume is turned up and not muted, drivers working correctly, but still no sound

Then a test.

Boot up a Live CD like UBUNTU (see google) and see if the sound works. If it does it's a Windows issue and you can see about making restore media according to Compaq's guide as well as a full factory restore.

Again. Don't use those restores for the reason you noted as you will discover it's not that good.
