How no sound?

Did you have sound before? Can you use restore to a point you did have sound?
Have you defragged & cleaned up the registry of bad links & short cuts?

Did the sound card get moved, or did a new program interfere with the settings?

Is it a new sound card or the same one? Many of the newer ones aren't going to work well with XP machines.
